Researching about metaphysical thoughts/beliefs using real-life references for the fic. For example, the Islamic thought. I’m writing a scene with The Magician where they ought to explain some metaphysical stuff, but it was hard to imagine them say stuff resembling sci-fi Western ideas such as the “multiple world interpretations.”

I found this video that showed a book in English about the Islamic thought “Prolegomena To The Metaphysics of Islam” by Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas.

I will operate this fic with the assumption that the Arcana are omniscient but NOT all-knowing OR all powerful beings. Maybe they know what is going on with The Fool, but they don’t have all the details and of course they can’t intervene because The Fool lives in the human realm and the Arcana are confined to their own realms.

Metaphysical-wise, naturally a headcanon for writing purposes because I could barely grasp a single idea in that cool book, there is just ONE world of The Arcana. The routes may exist independently from each other but the starting point is the same. So instead of jumping from one parallel line to another, The Fool can retrace back to the original point and follow another path, consciously or unconsciously. An illustration would be… an infinitely long rug. There is just one rug to walk on. If you wanna walk on the rug somewhere else, you need to coil the rug back and move the coil somewhere else and unroll it.
